Welcome to our Year 2 Class Page. This is home to all of the amazing learning that takes place in our Tawny Owls Class.

Our Year 2 team is made up of Miss Shearer, Mrs Hunter and Mrs Smith.

In our Year Two Class, we aim to deliver an ambitious, well sequenced and progressive curriculum that enables children to build upon prior knowledge, understanding and skills, resulting in them being able to know more and remember more across the curriculum subjects and to fully prepare them for the next stage of education when they move into Key Stage 2.

In Term One, we held 'Parent Curriculum Meetings' which were an opportunity for all parents to come into school so see what their children will be learning across the academic year. Please find a copy of the presentations below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher.

Term 2 Learning

On Friday 13th December, our Year 2 children went to Devizes Sidmouth Club to visit the Alzheimers Support Group. The children engaged in craft activities and performed a number of Christmas songs for the residents. This was a fantastic opportunity for our children to spread some joy and festive cheer during the Christmas period. The children and residents had a fabulous time. We were really pleased to receive the following email from the club manager:

"THANK YOU SO MUCH for bringing the children this morning! The members are still talking about it and they all agreed we should send the card straight to them today! They are a credit to the school and to your teachers!"

Term 1 Learning

In DT, our year 2 children have been learning about the importance of a balanced diet. As part of this learning, they explored the hidden sugars in foods and drinks by looking at the sugar contents on packaging. The children designed, planned, created and evaluated their own healthy wraps. The children used their writing skills to record their learning.
