Aspiring Leaders
At Southbroom Infants', we believe that giving our children opportunities to fully immerse themselves into school life, have a voice and make a positive difference to our school, supports their development to become well rounded citizens.
Part of our Aspiring Leaders program is our School Council. Meet our 2024-25 School Councilors below:
Our School Councillors are very active within our school and are keen to make a positive difference to our school community. See some of the fantastic things our children have organised and taken part it this year:
Our School Councillors organised a cake sale for Children In Need. They raised £75 for this brilliant charity.
Our School Councillors represented our school at the St Johns Church Tree Festival in December where they took decorations that the children had made and decorated the tree.
Play Leaders at Southbroom Infants
At the start of term 4, we recruited some year 2 children to be Play Leaders at lunchtime.
Our School Councilors met to discuss what attributes they though a Play Leader should have.
Their role is to lead a variety of games at lunchtime that other children can get involved with. Through this program, we aim to develop children's personal and social skills, alongside developing friendships and leadership skills.
Our Play Leaders have got off to a flying start and are doing a fantastic job.
